HR Metrics Summit

human resources metricsI’ve been thinking more and more about HR metrics lately. Why? Because the new job requires me to actually use my brain. Well, I started looking around for some resources that would help me get up to speed, and about that same time I was contacted by someone at IQPC to see if I wanted to attend the 2011 HR Metrics Summit in Chicago. Talk about coincidence!

After checking into the event, I am really excited to be able to attend. Not only is Tim Sackett going to be presenting, but I’ll get to hear from other industry leaders about how to measure and analyze the business from an HR perspective. Some of the sessions I’m excited about:

  • Case Study: Making Manager Self-Service Improvements
  • “Group Therapy” Interactive Session Prioritizing Metrics: If You Were Stranded In The Boardroom With The CEO, Which 5 Metrics Would You Choose To Discuss?
  • Assessing the Business Impact of HR
  • When HR Metrics Fail to Connect With Your Executives
  • Designing a Measurement Framework to Assess Leadership Effectiveness: A Case Study

Why it matters to me

Working for a small company means that you have to be good at a lot of different things. We don’t have a “metrics” guy yet, and with my love of numbers I could be just the right person to fill that slot. I’ve said it before, but it makes you much more valuable if you can become the “go to” person at work for something specific.

As you can see, I’m really excited about attending. Look for more posts coming as the event gets closer! By the way, if you get a ticket before December 17th, you can shave almost 50% off the cost of event registration!

    Ben –

    I noticed your mention on this via Twitter a while back, and have talked with them a bit. I’m more than a little concerned, though, that the event is in February and the site still doesn’t list the venue. Have you heard anything from them regarding finalization?

    @Krista Wheeeee! :-)
    @Dwane My friend, I’m never worried. :-) HRevolution is not too long after February and we haven’t found a venue yet, either. I’d sit in a parking lot to hear some of these people speak if I had to!

    Are you planning to attend if they can lock something down? Would love to meet you!
