HR Book Reviews

If you’re looking for HR Book Reviews, this is the place. I take the time to read a lot of books that are valuable tools for HR professionals and business leaders, and I write up my comments on what I found valuable as an “in the trenches” HR pro. These are some of the best “HR” books to read, not because they are all about human resources, but because they help us be better business leaders as well. Here’s a little motivation to get you inspired:

“Rich people have small TVs and big libraries, and poor people have
small libraries and big TVs.” Zig Ziglar

Book Review Policy

Authors & Publishers – If you would like to send me a book to review, please email me with a synopsis of the book. Please note that I only respond to pitches that I choose to accept.

My Preferred Genres: HR, recruiting, business, leadership, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and others that an audience of business leaders would find valuable.

Although I own an eReader and a smartphone, I prefer to read nonfiction books in hard copy to make notes, highlight important sections, add sticky notes to remind me of ideas that I particularly enjoyed. In the end, that makes for more valuable reviews than if I’d skimmed it in a Kindle and slapped something together.

By accepting a review copy of a book, I can not guarantee that I’ll finish it or that I’ll review it; I can guarantee that I will try to do both. If I do finish the book, I’ll review it honestly on this site.

I do my best to read and review books in a timely manner. However, due to time constraints and other fluid commitments, I can’t always get a review done on a very short timeline. If that is an issue then you might not want to send me one. :-)

Disclosure

The majority of the books I review are given to me as advance review copies by publishers and authors. Others are purchased by me because I believe in the power of books to educate and enlighten. I don’t give positive reviews in exchange for free books–I give positive reviews for books that challenge me to think or act.
