#HRevolution 2010 in the Books

steve boese lance haun hrevolution coffeeIt was an amazing night at the Monster Social HRevolution event, and Saturday was no different. My sincere hope for this weekend was that everyone would finish the day saying, “I would gladly do this all over again.” With the feedback I’ve heard so far from our attendees, that’s been the case for the most part.

I’ve already seen half a dozen posts on the event from various people, and I know more will be coming soon. Don’t forget that I’ll be handling the HR Blog Carnival on May 19th, so get me a link to your post by the 17th if you want to participate! I’d love for it to be the most comprehensive collection of HRevolution material that’s available anywhere.

I had the opportunity to speak with Trish McFarlane yesterday, and one of the things we were both excited about was the list of attendees. We have people who we’ve never even met, but they believe in HRevolution enough to come. I want to make it worth their time. After the first event, we had one person out of the entire fifty-plus attendees who was less than completely satisfied. HRevolution Blogging Session Help

So, I just might kinda sorta be leading a blogging session at HRevolution. Cool, huh? :-) Well, I wandered back and forth at HRev #1 snapping pictures and trying to listen in on both the beginner and expert sessions. I know there’s a lot of variety out there with regard to blogging ability, skillset, interest, etc. What I would like to know is what you’d like to see in a blogging session (if you even care).

At the first event, we split the bloggers into beginner and advanced groups. They covered everything from website troubleshooting to getting post ideas from Google Reader to adding images to a WordPress post. After the event was over, I kept up with the beginner blogger session attendees and tried to make sure and answer each and every blogging question they brought up. Free Employee Engagement Webinar

Free human resources webinarI hear tell that there’s a free webinar coming up on April 15th! I’ll be listening in. Will you? It’s called A Perfect Match: 10 M’s of Employee Engagement and will be hosted by LinkedHR. I’ve already reserved my seat and hope to blog about the content, but it wouldn’t hurt to experience it for yourself. It also qualifies for one strategic credit from HRCI, and I know it’s tough to get those for this kind of price!

I had the great opportunity to see Laura Huckabee-Jennings and her presentation on employee engagement entitled “Leaders Have Followers” at a NASHRM event earlier this year. That event opened my eyes to the sort of impact employee engagement can have on an organization, and I’m hoping this free webinar will take that even further.

HRevolution 2009 Participant Sound Off

HRevolution survey results I, like many of the former HRevolution attendees, love talking about the event. It sometimes gets tough for those who haven’t been there to understand just what it means to those of us who have.

HRevolution-Why You Have to Come

I don’t know about you, but I’m pumped about HRevolution 2010. We have some great things in store. While we haven’t yet shared some of the information on speakers/topics, there is still a core group of people who are fervent supporters. It’s amazing to see how popular this event that I helped to create is really becoming. I and the other planners really appreciate all of the support and hope to make this one twice as good as the last!

In that vein, I have asked some of last year’s attendees and some of this year’s newbies to give me a little bit of information about why they want to attend and what they are looking for from the event. It was enlightening and I hope you enjoy the responses as much as I have. And make sure you check out the HRevolution Preview on HR Happy Hour!

Why did you sign up for HRevolution 2010?

I signed up for HRE 2010 to meet a lot of very smart people – and I have to say that starts with the planning committee. In addition, the list of attendees is outstanding. I look forward to meeting those who I have connected with on Twitter. I am excited to speak with them and get ideas about social media, HR and blogging.
