#HRevolution blogging team

Posted January 3rd, 2011 in General by Ben

So… You are a huge fan of HRevolution. You just can’t get enough information about the event, and you love sharing it with others. Well, I have the gig for you!

As the PR/web guy for HRevolution, I am looking for a few people to help me as the event gets closer. Traditionally I have tried to keep all the platforms humming, but as the event has grown, it has gotten even tougher to keep all the balls in the air. Plus I am excited about offering some special tools for attendees this year and need some help getting those out to everyone.

That’s where you come in.

What I need

I am looking for people to assist with the following pieces for a few minutes a week. This isn’t a full time job or anything, but it might take 15-30 minutes per week (and maybe slightly more as we get close to the event date).

  • Updating the HRevolution blog
  • Generating discussions and comments on the LinkedIn group
  • Updating and interacting on our Facebook page
  • Getting email updates out to our email list
  • And other top secret stuff I can’t mention here :-)

What you get in return

There are some big benefits of helping out, and here’s a short list to help you decide if you want to help.

  • You get to interact with some of the smartest, nicest people in the HR/recruiting space
  • You get a peek into this fun event and how things run behind the scenes
  • I’ll have something special to give my blog team at the event

Think this is something you’d be interested in? Shoot me a quick email and we can discuss. I only need a few people, so contact me quickly if you want to assist.

HRevolution 2011 Video

Posted December 22nd, 2010 in Events, General, Video by Ben

I shot the video below a while back, and it is currently playing on the HRevolution 2011 event registration page. By the way, tickets are for sale:-) I thought it would be fun to share some of the back story of the event, how it’s different from other conferences, and what you should expect if you decide to attend. If you’ve already seen the video, feel free to share it with someone else! If not, then it’s a great primer on this revolutionary HR/recruiting event!

#HRevolution tickets for sale!

Posted November 22nd, 2010 in Events, General by Ben

HRevolution tickets! Get ‘em while they’re hot!

A few quick notes about the HRevolution tickets:

  • Discount for quick people-If you are one of the first 20 people to purchase tickets, you get $25 off. Snag one quick!
  • What you get for your money-Cost includes a meal on Friday evening plus Saturday breakfast/lunch/snack. It also helps us to cover the costs of the meeting space. We are still the cheapest (and coolest ;-) ) event for HR/recruiting pros around!

Times are tough (duh)

There are a few ways for you to lower your costs of attending and still get the full benefits from being an HRevolution participant.

  • Room sharing-I shared a room with one guy at HRevolution ’09 and two guys at HRevolution ’10. As long as the trend doesn’t continue (four guys is a bit much, right? :-) ), I’ll be sharing room costs with my fellow attendees to make it more affordable in 2011. Some of the people who have roomed together in the past are now great friends and I’d like to think HRev helped with that at least a little.
  • Individual sponsors-I’m talking with a few companies to sponsor individual attendees as a sort of “scholarship.” If you are a company who’s willing to help someone attend this amazing event, contact me. It’s cheap ($150), will get you some kudos, and helps you to create a die hard fan. :-)
  • Carpooling (?)-I spent nine hours driving/riding to Chicago in May 2010. It was rough. But, again, it was a cost saving measure and all three of us were able to pay $30 for gas instead of buying 3 plane tickets. Plus we shared ideas and got the conversations started before we even arrived. Atlanta isn’t the hub of the universe, but it can still be less than a nine hour drive! If you’re interested in this, I recommend using Twitter with the #HRevolution tag and anyone who’s interested can reach out to you. Just a thought!

One more thing

If you are attending or interested the least little bit, let people know on LinkedIn. Same for our Facebook event. Share it. Hug it. Whatever it takes, just help us get the word out!

Hope to see you there!

#HRevolution 2011 in Atlanta (April 29-30)

Posted October 18th, 2010 in Events by Ben

You may have heard murmurings about HRevolution 2011. Well… After reviewing and discussing the survey results from last year, we have decided to host it in Atlanta on April 29-30.

What you can do for now

Spread the word. We’re going to have a limited number of tickets (as we did for HRevolution 2010) to encourage the close community and deep discussions that come with a smaller crowd. If you want a ticket, stay tuned for more info coming your way. And if you have suggestions for topics, please check out the LinkedIn discussion!

There’s one new and fun way to spread the word as well. HRevolution gear!

What we’re doing for now

The planning committee (Trish, Crystal, Steve, and I) are starting those lovely conference calls and planning sessions. Each of us have a boatload of ideas to bring to our respective pieces of the planning process, and it’s going to be amazing to see what everyone puts together!

What’s in store

  • Complete website redesign
  • Free stuff before the event
  • Great sponsors to keep the cost low
  • Conversations that last a lifetime
  • Speakers and sessions that will rock your socks

Comments? Questions? Leave ‘em below!

Posted May 19th, 2010 in Events, General by Ben

Welcome to the HR Carnival-HRevolution style! I’ve prepared a short video to lead into this fun “occasion” and the text of the video is below if you’re the reading type (or if my mug isn’t something you enjoy staring at). Please set aside some time to seriously read through and absorb this stuff, because it’s the most comprehensive collection of information about the event to date.
